I once did because in FF6 for some reason I couldn't figure out how to get to the imperial castle in Vector for the banquet after the espers attacked the city. I thought I was doing something wrong because it seemed strange that I was supposed to go to a dinner party at the castle while the entire city was on fire but somehow the castle immediately behind it was perfectly fine. turns out you just needed to walk up the steps at the back end of the city.
