TSINAH why is AI Studio paywalled now?

Because it was free for a long time and google doesn't feel like paying for it anymore. Too many people probably found out that you can bypass gemini subscriptions with it. They were probably absorbing the costs before assuming people who use it will convert to paid api keys. It's not fully paywalled anyway it just has much lower rate limits than it did.
